Carbon Reduction Policy
At SEMP, we are committed to doing our part in the fight against climate change.
As an SME, we operate primarily remotely and use serviced office spaces located in city centres, as needed. This flexible approach already helps minimise our environmental impact, and our carbon footprint but we know there’s always more we can do.
Our Commitment
We aim to actively reduce our carbon footprint by:
- Promoting flexible working to cut down on daily commuting and energy use in office spaces.
- Choosing sustainable office providers that prioritise energy efficiency and responsible waste management.
- Minimising business travel, favouring virtual meetings wherever possible. When we do travel, we opt for public transport over less sustainable options.
- Working with eco-conscious suppliers and favouring digital-first, low-impact tools and services.
- Supporting our team with guidance on energy-efficient home working, from equipment use to heating and lighting.
- Promoting schemes such as our cycle to work and EV salary sacrifice scheme.
Measuring Our Impact
Each year, we’ll review our environmental practices and look for ways to improve. We track relevant data, such as travel and office energy use, to better understand our footprint and make informed decisions.
Looking Ahead
Reducing emissions is a long-term journey. We’re committed to being transparent, making continual progress, and staying up to date with best practices to support a more sustainable future for all.
By appointing a Carbon Champion, leveraging hybrid working arrangements, investing in employee awareness and sustainable operations, and aligning with recognised standards, we are building a strong foundation for meaningful, measurable progress and sustainable expansion. As we re-baseline our emissions and refine our targets, we remain focused on continuous improvement, stakeholder engagement, and exploring certifications to reinforce our commitment to responsible and sustainable business practices.
